Let's explore this tool in more detail

The use of whiteboards for communication, creation and innovation may number in the hundreds of thousands each day. White board pens have been overlooked for too long, and the time has now come to shed some light on these humble office pawns.

In spite of the fact that these markers are very important for modern office life, there is still a certain amount of information lacking on this subject.

White board pens overview

Edding

This product features a great colour, outstanding tip quality, nice ergonomics, is cheap, and has limited reliability.
It may be somewhat smelly to some people, and the black and red colours will fade over time.

Pilot

It is refillable and has great colour and ink flow. It is undeniable that the ergonomics are not optimal, and it may smell bad as well.

Expo

It is cheap, the colour is excellent, the ink flow is excellent, and the felt tips are nice. It is limited to the UK, has some ergonomic issues, might be too strong for some individuals, and is not refillable.

Sharpie

Ink flow and colour are excellent, felt tips are nice, and the product is limited to European markets.
There are a few cons to this product: there are some ergonomic issues, it may be too smelly for some people, it is not refillable, it might be difficult to remove if you keep it on the board for a long period of time, and the colour may fade over time.

Pentel

It has a fancy pump-up action, great colours, and a good ink flow, and it is relatively inexpensive.
There are some cons to this product, including smell, cost, inability to refill, and some ergonomic issues.

Neuland

One of its pros is that it smells the least, it is ergonomically designed, it has excellent ink flow, it is refillable, and it is gray in color.
There are a number of cons associated with this marker, such as the fact that refills are not readily available in some countries, the colour is sometimes unstable, and the tip is too soft.

Staedtler

There are several pros to this set, including fantastic plastic boxes for sets, availability in most European countries, nice ergonomics, and limited reliability.
The disadvantages include the poor quality of the tip, the pale colours (black is not impressive) that may fade with time, and the fact that it is one of the odourless products.

Best selling white board pens

(1) Pilot V Board Master Wytebord Marker™, medium chisel point

Among the things we like about this design is that the cap has a knob, which I assume prevents the marker from rolling off a table.

It is easier to predict when a marker is about to run out when it is equipped with a transparent plastic cartridge at the rear of the pen.

The markings on the cap of a marker are useful for identifying the tip type (should you own a variety). When the marker is in use, the cap can be placed on the back, but when drawing, the cap can easily fall off.

It is noted on the body that there are spare tips, indicating that they can be replaced. You can find the Pilot white board pen here. >>

(2) Pentel Maxiflo white board marker, bullet point

This marker has a unique feature known as pump-up action - there is a button on the rear of the marker you can press when the ink is running low.

In addition, the body of the pen is made of transparent plastic so you can see how much ink is left - an extremely useful feature.

There is an indication of the type of tip on the cap; again, this is useful for those who own and actively use a variety of caps.

The cap can be attached to the rear end of a marker when in use, and it holds the marker more or less securely.

The manufacturer recommends leaving the marker uncapped for an extended period of time without capping it. Moreover, they assert that the marker has a three times longer distance (approximately 1100 meters of uninterrupted line) than the standard marker. However, it is unclear what markers they are comparing.

There are a variety of tips available for these markers, including bullet tips, chisel tips, fine bullet tips, and fine chisel tips. You can find more information here>>
